Maximizing Technology Investments

TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTED, NOW WHAT?

You’ve spent a bundle on a new software package, e-commerce solution or enterprise application. So, what’s the problem? User acceptance low? Solution doesn’t integrate with existing applications? Not achieving the desired results? We’ve seen this time and time again with our clients despite the time and $$ invested to implement their technology solution. We can help by revisiting your initial goals and developing an action plan to maximize the return on your technology investment. We’ve worked with SAP, PeopleSoft, ADP and other enterprise CRM and Sales management applications and numerous web-related projects detailed below:

  • Devised a Change Management Roadmap for a transformative, multi-year initiative of a $20 million upgrade of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management for Canada’s largest higher education institution; provided senior advisory services to the Program Manager and other executive stakeholders, influencing the direction and timing of the change management approach, activities and budget; identified 100+ major change impacts, developed a Change Tracker to chart progress and engaged 75 front-line staff in an extensive process of business requirements gathering led by PS Functional Consultants; led several Special Project Committees with executive leaders related to governance, approvals and university policies.

  • Represented a large healthcare union in discussions with a software vendor, to plan and implement ADP’s labor and expense management software, to track staff time and attendance and expense management; created employee communications and training plans aligned with vendor project implementation timelines; resolved long standing issues and kept union management updated on project progress.

  • Developed a comprehensive Project Charter for a University Business School to overhaul a 6000 page web site and related web properties over 36 months; developed strategies to maximize CMS investment and engage users by improving the user interface and information architecture; extensive stakeholder consultation usability testing, and graphic design firm selection.

  • Assessed a $1 million custom software project at a research facility, which was over-budget and behind schedule; identified issues with the project team composition, expense oversight and disconnect with user needs; conducted a user survey targeting 5000+ researchers, with a 20% response rate; delivered ten (10) recommendations to the senior management team to jump start the stalled project and lower implementation costs; project was completed within 12 months of the final recommendations.

  • Created a 3-Year Roadmap and Operational Plan for a University Business School to transition from traditional IT Services to Learning and Technology Services; conducted 50 stakeholder interviews with faculty, staff, and internal clients; completed best practices and benchmarking against competing business schools in US and Canada to prioritize technology investments; recommended the creation of a new Director role; developed capital and operating budgets; defined resourcing requirements and new staff positions; ongoing implementation of project recommendations.

  • Developed an RFP for an international wireless company for web development services including project scope, technology platform requirements and back office integration; evaluated, selected and managed vendor, accomplishing the project in ¼ of the time over previous efforts; managed the $250,000 project to consolidate disparate internet, intranet and extranet sites; coached senior management on strategic web opportunities for 1800 employees, customers and vendors; collaborated with VP HR to streamline online hiring processes in conjunction with PeopleSoft implementation; evaluated organizational impact and created risk mitigation plans.
